Pine Island flats deliver grouper and trout on morning charter!
Had a crew of four join us this spring morning around 8 am for some Pine Island action. The day started with partly cloudy skies that eventually brought some rain our way, but the water conditions around Pine Island stayed fishable. We headed out on our 1/2 Day Inshore Trip with All 4 Chuck Fishing Charters ready to see what the flats would give us.
The bite was slow today, but we managed to work our way to some decent action using drift fishing and live bait fishing with light tackle. Pine Island's grass flats and structure make it perfect for this style of fishing when you need to cover water and find where the fish are holding. We pulled in a gag grouper, a spanish mackerel, and several sea trout throughout the morning. The light tackle setup really made each fish feel like a solid fight, and we wrapped up the trip with some good fish in the box and smiles all around.
